Galleries live or die on rhythm: uniform grids feel calm and product-like, masonry feels editorial, and full-bleed rows feel like a portfolio. Whatever the style, lazy-load everything below the fold and keep captions short, because the images are the content.

Curate before you design: a gallery of twelve strong images beats forty mixed ones in any layout. Decide the cropping rule once, apply it to every image, and the cheapest-looking part of most galleries, the inconsistent thumbnails, disappears.
